Yeah, sure doesn't seem like a good idea to me either but I guess the point they're trying to illustrate is the tank has to be higher than the trailer's fresh water intake to work at all, albeit slowly. Not sure if my truck bed does meet this requirement but I'd still use a pump anyway for quicker transfer.
