When I approached the staff to get clarification on their reasoning I was essentially told "our decision is final and you must comply". Even showing them the nws forecast did not cut it and for even asking why they were ready to kick us out (mind you I was very polite and simply asked for the reasoning, the decision makers name, and mailing address).
You may have been polite but it reads like you were on the verge of being a PIA, if you hadn't arrived at that destination already.
Personally, when someone says "I simply", or "I only", I read it as a pre-emptive tactic to imply innocence.
I'd love to hear the other side of the exchange.
