Waxing regular fiberglass sidewalls

My older Cardinal has gelcoat front and rear caps, but the exterior sidewalls are of a general fiberglass material. It's not nearly as glossy as the gelcoat. I usually just deoxidize and wax the two caps along with the lower skirting, but have never done the sidewalls other than wash them (it's a BIG job). They look ok for and older unit, but I tested out the deoxidizer on a small section and it certainly brightens the area. Do any of you wax this type of fiberglass? Do you deoxidize it first?

In a related issue, do any of you use a buffer to either apply wax/deoxidizer? Doing it by hand is certainly a pain. Do you use a buffer to buff out the wax? If so, is there a good brand of buffer? I picked one up at Lowe's and it's only .5 amps. It works for buffing out the wax, but mainly on flat surfaces. It doesn't really do a good job of deoxidizing since you can't really apply good pressure on the buffer. Thanks.

My entire 5th wheel gets a complete wax with Maguires #50 cleaner wax fall and spring.
I use a Craftsman 10" random orbital buffer to apply and remove the wax. No swirl marks and the unit looks new all the time. JMO
  • I'm fortunate to have a garage for our MH but I do wax it every great once in awhile. I use MaGuires on it and do it all by hand with no buffers. It does take awhile though but it's almost ten years old and looks like new.
  • Been there, done that, got tired of it. Red Max Pro (aka Zep). Do a search and read away.
