I've used both friction bars and my current Husky Centerline, and prefer the integrated sway control of the Husky. Either will do the job, but the Husky is easier to hitch up, and feels more stable.
Watch your payload (trailer tongue weight counts as payload) with a small truck it is usually the number you will exceed first. Ideal tongue weight for a TT is around 13-15% of loaded trailer weight, so figure 650 lb or so for your 4600 lb TT.
If your Ranger has P metric tires, you can gain more stability by going to a LT tire.
We just got the truck a few weeks ago, originally we were going to use it as a toad behind a Moho with the Harley in it. Then we discovered these couples TT's and since our last RV was a cabover camper these are close to the same size...and we went EVERYWHERE with the C/O and could have easily fulltimed in it. So the plan changed, we just got luck that the Ranger is capable of towing it. We'll be almost at GVW with just the TT and a few things in the bed. So the Ranger will pull it for local and weekend stuff with a small load out and by an F250 4x4, with the Harley in the bed, loaded to the gills for weeks/months of exploration. :B
