I wanted a SAME technology weather warn radio for use in the home and trailer. One of the problems with most of them is that once they alarm they continue with the broadcast until you shut them off.

We have 2 Midland radios that shut off after about 3 minutes after an alert. Both are SAME tech radios. We don't have shut them off manually.
May we have the model numbers please .. we are going to be traveling across the states from Washington to Ontario Canada, stopping for a few days here and there .. spending a month in Kansas at one location, however would like to have a weather alert radio which automatically picks up signals as we travel.
Does such a weather alert radio exist ? We would then keep it in either the car or travel trailer. - RoadXYZExplorer IIDeleted

It will show weather radar- a real plus!

The radar on my smart phone is a plus.
Most of the 100 other things I don't use or need.
The clock is nice, the compass comes in handy once and awhile, and the thing telling you the outside temp is kinda OK. But, going outside and standing is just as good too. - K3WEExplorer...or get the smartphone you are avoiding.

- Shadow_CatcherExplorerI wanted a SAME technology weather warn radio for use in the home and trailer. One of the problems with most of them is that once they alarm they continue with the broadcast until you shut them off. The only one I found that shuts itself off was the Reecom. Let me put it this way I had six warnings a couple of days ago for thunderstorms rolling through. It does have AA backup batteries but I rigged it with a PMW to run off of 12V.
Reecom - Roy_LynneExplorer IIThanks all. Our bucket list trip starts next fall and we need something I'm going to look into all of them.
- the_vfoxExplorerMy CB has the WX on it, I just leave it on when the weather looks knarley
- Iraqvet05ExplorerLiving in the Kansas City area, I'd get all kinds of alerts for counties near me on my old weather radio but the new radio with SAME is nice because I can select only my county. On the flip side it would not make a good travel radio because it is a pain to program and you need to know what county you are in to make the SAME functionality work.
