Weber Q size ?

I have this 5 pound tank for the same reason. Bought it and had it filled in 2007. Have not run it empty yet.

I didn't like the ideas of 1) using a long hose from the RV propane system carrying the HP side pressure or 2) lugging around a full 20-pound tank. My compromise was to get a "squatty" 10-pound tank. It has the same base ring size as a 20-pounder, but weighs half as much.

I bought a base stabilising ring from CW, bolted it to a square of 3/4" plywood, then bolted the plywood down to a cargo-bay floor. I put it close to the front wall of the bay and added a couple of bungee hooks to the wall so I could restrain the top of the tank. They turned out not to be necessary. The tank fit very snugly in the base ring, and if it did come partly loose, it would hit the wall.

Works just fine.

Keeping the cylinder half full makes it lighter to move around.

We have the Q100 and really like it. The small (16 oz) cylinders last quite a while, and it's really easy to take apart for cleaning. Sure is heavy, tho, with that cast iron grilling surface. We cook for up to four people, and find the Q100 is large enough for our needs.

My 100 has been plenty big enough. Plus it fits in my storage bin.

If you're cooking for 3, get the 200 IMO, but you can get away with the 100 if that's your preference. Size and weight are considerations also as the Q's are heavy.


I recommend the Weber rolling cart too, sold separately. Going on 10 years with my Q200 and cart. Still works like new.

Our reason exactly for going to the 200. We always have the fixin's too. If grilling, we grill almost everything. And we frequently cook for 4.

Q200 would work better for 3 IMO

We have the Q220 and love it. A little big but we set it on the kitchen floor while traveling. Bought an adapter for our on board propane tanks and a 16 ft hose and set up the grill on a small table under the awning. Look around at ocal RV shows for these on the last day of the shows, we bought ours this spring for $100 and Camping World through in the table it was sitting on. Dealer did not want to carry it back to the store.
