More storms hit Florida than any other US state. Looking at the years from 1851 to 2004, for hurricanes of Category 3 and higher: Florida had 35 hurricanes; Texas, 19; Georgia, 3; Alabama, 6
Then there are the insects, humidity and all those old people :B
Hey Old Biscuit, I resemble that old remark.
We moved here to central Florida a few months ago,. Came from the Sacramento Valley where it gets very hot in the Summer.
Today a friend that came to visit in his RV from Kansas and I went fishing. Calm, warm, clear, beautiful.
We will head North when it gets too tuff for us. Not worried about Hurricanes here in the Central part. We can get out of dodge easily in any case.
Come on down. Florida welcomes us old folks.
Yup, I found central inland Florida the place to be. When I was looking around there are several towns around here that said they have not had a hurricane hit their area in 100 years!
Most certainly can not say THAT about the tornadoes in the Midwest. They can hit anywhere and do.
I've had 3 different houses of mine hit by a tornado up North. The most advance warning I ever got was a flash on the TV screen saying it would hit my town in 5 minutes. That one took out 10 of my neighbors houses. :R
I'll take the 10 to 12 day weather alert notice for a hurricane event over NO advance notice for tornadoes and earthquakes any day!!!:B
