Ogordont,

"BTW no state has a better state park camping system and there are lots of them both on the coast and inland."
Therefore, I check your claim out and it's a little off, OK more than a little!
Found this state published info for both just for a quick comparison to another US state:
OREGON, where you live and made the claim:
Size of the state: 98,400 sq mi/land area only
No of state parks with CG's: 57
No of SP's with CG's NEAR the Pacific Ocean Coastline: 14
Pacific Coastline length: 296 mi
Number of lakes including reserviors and man made lakes over 1 acre: 6150
Some info for comparison is not given for Oregon
MICHIGAN, where I live for instance:
Size of the state: 58,100 sq mi/land area only + 38,700 sq mi/Great Lakes water surface
No of SP's with CG's: 142
No of SP's with CG's ON the Great Lakes Coastline: 34
State Owned Harbors with public docks: 16
Great Lakes Coastline length in Michigan: Over 3,200 miles
More than 13,500 campsites in the state parks alone
Many thousands more CG sites in state forests and state recreation areas
More than 11,000 inland lakes 3 acres + in size not including the Great Lakes
Total inland waters including all inland lakes and ponds: 64,980
Not a dissing of Oregon at all but a documented answer to your claim.
Quite a difference and there are many other states that could also be checked out!
