Deb,
Our daughter who lives just south of Grand Haven on the Lake Michigan Lakeshore says much of the snow has already melted with the past 3 days of 40's temps and hot sun and said that now she has a green grass backyard. Hope you lost a lot of your snow also Deb.
Just saw the forecast for later today for Lake Michigan and they are forecasting 25-30 foot waves on the lake and the up to 50 mph winds they expect out there will breakup any of the ice that's out there and move the floating pieces towards shore and building piles. They're calling for an area approx 60-70 miles or more wide and over 200 miles long of open water by tomorrow. Which of course also means the warm water in the lake rising and blowing east and thus resuming the warming effect again for the long West Michigan Lakeshore area. Better get your 5th wheel packed again for some spring RVing to come!
Good thing another cold front is going thru or there could be be some badd flooding from a very quick melt and runoff.
rockhillmanor,
We or by far most people don't shovel any snow up north, we use a plow or a snowblower and clear the snow off into piles on the sides in minutes and those are the piles of snow you see in Deb's pic. Look behind on the right side of her pic and notice the chainlink fence where the snow hasn't been touched and how high the top of the fence is from the snowlevel on the ground. The depth of the snow on top of the vehicle in the pic also gives some idea if the snow hadn't been kept cleaned off lately. Only Deb can tell you.
