We've decided to take the trip after all
Me and Allyn have not been able to take many RV trips in the last 3 years since we both changed jobs and we just did not have the time to do it anymore. Not enough days off in a row to actually go anywhere. However, we had planned the ultimate trip for us this summer to take 2 weeks and go to South Dakota and see all that is out there. We've had this planned since winter.
However, as I have posted on the off topic forum, our sweet 23 year old daughter who was just starting her 3rd year in medical school and doing well in it, that never showed any signs of depression, took her own life 4-11-13. This has almost killed us, me especially as sometimes men handle their grief differently, though they grieve just as much. I am a mess. She was my bright shining star and my kindred spirit.
Anyway, we canceled our reservations at a nice campground out there because no way were we going to be able to have any joy in it now. Plus, I have quit my job as an RN and we are now on one income. We have decided to sell our RV.
However, now I've decided that instead of lying around here hoping to die myself, we ought to take that trip because I need the big change and I think going somewhere we've never been, so far away will do our souls good. So we got everything in order, got reservations for the same time, different site, but same campground. Got someone to keep the cats (I now have my daughter's cat as well, we adopted him), and we are set.
The RV is sitting outside with the for sale sign on it and all it's contents in our garage. We still plan on selling but we are going on this trip first and put all that stuff back in the RV and go on that trip. If we can sell it anyway, market is still bad.
Anyway, this is my attempt to try to live, hard as it is. We are looking forward to getting away. I wil still cry several times a day even on this trip, but I think it will do us good to go.
