- Dog_FolksExplorer IIAs Thanksgiving approaches, of course it is time to count our blessings. I am thankful for, in order:
1. My savior and God. He has been soooooooo generous with this poor soul. Much more than I deserve. He has allowed me, for the past eight and one half years, to live in retirement, and the great lifestyle of full timing RVing. I thank Him every day for this.
2. My wife and family. My wife has, without complaint, assumed many of my previous “duties.” Like driving for example. She said that she saw the look on my face after a long day of towing the trailer. It is a look of total exhaustion, and she does not want to see it again. She also did this very gently to avoid hurting my fragile male ego. As my disability gets worse, she just adapts. She also looks over me, with a protective attitude, my health care. She also accompanies me to the doctors because I will never remember the specifics of what was said. So she also serves as my memory.
3. I was not the best dad, but my son, Joe, turned out O.K. No hard drugs, no running around with the “wrong” crowd, owns his own home, and goes to work every day. He is a contributing member of society. He has done well, and I am proud of him.
4. I am thankful for our military forces. They keep us safe so I can enjoy all the special things that this great country has to offer. - 71choptopExplorerMany things to be thankful for, family, health, my dog...
