that’s pretty much us as well. i turn down the WH and have leak sensors anywhere there is a fixture. NEST t-stat allows remote control but heat is set to 50 and AC to 80 but i adjust up or down as needed on the day we arrive home or if i have service techs coming in. natural gas standby generator powers everything if need be. lots of automation and neighbors and friends with keys.
