Any trip, whether it's 4 days or 2 weeks, we shut off water to the washing machine, to the ice maker, all the toilets, and set the thermostat down. We have a tankless water heater so we don't worry about that. Fridge is emptied of fresh items. Son comes by and checks on things for us.
