Maybe 20+ years ago I found that my garage door opener (late 70's unit) latches a relay if there's a power drop out. So even if it's out for a second or 4 hours it latches the lights on 24/7 when power returns. MY A/C condensate drain has a pump to lift it up about 2' so always concerned about a malfunction there. I have a basement so anything that might be aged by heat is stored there like photos etc.
For years my parents did the snowbird thing and they shut water off, fridge etc and kept the heat about 50.
