To me, it means that the world is NOT ending and there are natural ebbs and flows to the world. We have warm periods and cold periods, we have droughts and we have wet times. It means to me that humans really don't have as much "control" over what happens as some of us think that we do.
That is a lot of water though, and I believe it means that California will have a lot more system failures, because they have not properly designed or properly maintained their man made infrastructures to handle these types of events. I'm quite curious to see what the response of the federal government will be to California's request for federal aid...
