Calculate the total population of the earth standing rank and file i.e. each person occupy 1 square yard.
Now calculate the dimensions, in miles, of the square it would take to hold the population of earth, standing rank and file.
Ans: ____ miles x _____ miles ...
It's been done before.
I saw it somewhere, they would all fit in Texas.
Also.
The total population is 7.5 Billion.
We produce enough food to feed 11 Billion.
Lots of waste there
The square root of 7,500,000,000 people is 86,602 (yards) divided by 1760 yds / mile = a square 49.2 miles x 49.2 miles will hold the earth's population stood rank and file.
When you hear Dire Predictions about over population keep that figure in mind.
Agree plenty of food and resources are wasted daily.... - mich800Explorer

I wonder how many less negative issues there would be for mankind if the world's running total population was, say, one billion people or less at all times?
Probably none. If history is any lesson than the countless civilizations that have disappeared would still be here. Back when the population was much less. - NYCgrrlExplorer

What I find odd is that here in the NW we broke a record high temp of 65deg. Yesterday it was 68. Today it was 67. Guess when the original 65 temp was set?!!! Over 100 years ago. That's right, before cars, factories and petroleum. So how did that temp make it so high back then?........that's right normal climate cycles. It comes and goes, it's nature and earth taking care of itself.
Sure some don't want to hear that because it's easier to blame someone than accept what is normal!
100 years ago wasn't before cars, petroleum and factories.
In fact the Industrial Revolution began in the mid-18th century and, at the start, the fossil fuel of choice, was coal.
Not sure when weather records started being kept in this country but I'd hazard a guess it was more like within Benjamin Franklin's lifetime possibly even before his birth. That being said were I a scientist I'd have more historical data to analyze whether the 65 degree temp was an anomaly or the norm. As well certain natural phenomena would have to be factored in such as volcanoes, meteors and typhoons.
In recent times, we've seen the effects on our weather with the Icelandic and Italian volcanoes as well as tsunamis. - dave54Nomad

Ans: ____ miles x _____ miles ... - pnicholsExplorer IIWhether or not one believes the Earth's weather is changing and the scientific, or otherwise, reasons why it's changing if it is changing ... one thing is very different and very certain: There's way more people loading up Mother Earth than there ever have been going through any previous weather cycles. This changes the whole game from what it used to be regarding weather and several other factors:
- The Earth needs more fresh water for those people where they live.
- The Earth needs more food for those people where they live.
- The Earth's air needs the same oxygen ratio maintained for those people where they live.
- The Earth needs diseases eliminated/reduced in all the places where people live.
- The Earth needs energy for those people where they live.
- Etc.
- Etc.
.... and where those people live is fast approaching everywhere.
Everything is going to be far different going forward regardless of what governments do, or do not, do. Turning the clock back or even stopping the clock isn't going to happen unless the population bomb is once and for all contained ... and that bomb seems to be the 800 lb. gorilla in the room that can't be contained unless we all start paying attention to it.

NOAA "Scientists" have been caught cooking thee books, to gt their agenda accepted. Their agenda was revealed last month some time by one of their own.
It was to gain traction and control for Global Governance.
Don't move to deserts, and flood plains and on the oceans edge and force everyone to stave off nature for a time or rebuild your sea shore mansion..
You are not going to stop the normal cycles of the earth by imposing electric motors and solar both proven to consume more than they produce.
Live like you want on your dime and move when it floods or drys up. - Turtle_n_PeepsExplorerMe? I live in Nor Cal. I'm the guy that grows the food you and people around the world eats.
I love the rain. Filling up my well and making things grow around here. Flushing out the lakes and making things clean again. I don't own a house next to a lake or built in a river or creek.
I do feel sorry for the people around Orville. Our governor screwed those peoples lives because of money mis-management.
Let it rain, that's what I say.
