I have no idea about You or the Family across the street, but for me the Best is a 2003-2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
I just got a 2005, and got it set up to tow. I am quite happy now (in that respect, at least).

I like the Chevy HHR made up until 2011. I towed a 2008 for many miles and just purchased a 2011 with 50,000 miles. Easy entry and exit good on fuel and has plenty of room to shop and haul things around.

This looks like a good deal.

Considering the use is a good idea. We tow a off-road Samurai for camping and a 2005 Jeep Wrangler for urban trips for the freeway speeds, AC and windshield doors. Both easy 4 down tows. I imagine a sedan or small pickup would be good for snowbirds who want to haul people, groceries, etc in security.

I sure didn't want to buy a new car to just drag around behind my MH. I looked and 'luck would have it' I found a used Chevy Tracker 4x4, 4-door. Best thing I have ever bought for my MH!.

Towable four down, fits the bill of great MPG, lightweight, nice storage area behind the back seat and when back seat is placed down an even larger storage area. AND can seat 5 people.

Think about what you will be doing with your Toad while RV'ing.

For me I attend a lot of sporting events with my MH. So the extra storage area in the toad was a big plus. Grass/sand parking areas 4x4 a plus for car.

AND when all the competition is over for the day? I can take 4 friends with me to go out to eat and celebrate! :C

To determine the "best dingy" for you start with what vehicle you would want for a daily driver. Do you want a small car that gets good MPG's or a larger SUV with more room for people or stuff in the back? Do you want to travel dirt roads or mostly stay on paved roads? Dirt roads you want to look at ground clearance 7 ins or more. What is the towing capacity of your MH? If you can answer these questions you can narrow your search down to what is best for you.

We tow a 13 hyundai elantra. Have towed for over 10000 miles with only 1 issue (no charge line for battery, fixed at the 1st overnight stop). Good wide stance, less than 3000 lbs, 150HP direct injection engine. It came with almost all the extras for a base line vehicle. No electric seats! It gets on average 36+ mpg we used it a lot this past summer for day trips to hot springs or looking at the NP we visited. Have seen a few being towed most were the bigger ones behind the big class a's. But the best will be whatever fits your needs the best. Reason we got ours is that wife like the roominess when we rented one to go pick up the rv. rear seat folds down for lots of interior room if needed. Plus it was relatively inexpensive to buy, 100000 warrenty dont hurt either.

One persons best is next persons worst. Get what makes sense for you and can be safely towed. Way too many to choose from.
