What is this in my battery box


We want to get a solar panel and need to know what this is and what it does. Thanks

    Am I missing something? It's in your battery box, says off/on. Battery disconnect switch.

    I'd guess the needle is covering up "ON"
    looks sort of like those A, B, or AB switches but ???????
