- roverdoverExplorerOn previous rv hit a tree limb and shattered the frig cover. Was over a thousand miles from home. Stopped at rest stop and taped with duct tape. By the time we got to campground that afternoon, shroud was loose again. Went to Ace and got Gorilla tape. Taped the shroud. When we returned home it was still in place. Could not get a cover immediately because of strike at plant. Stayed on two more years and was still in place when traded the camper.
Just recently had a tire failure that got the floor under the heater. Taped it up with Gorilla tap. Did not get wet on the way home. - CincyGusExplorer II

In the Army we had stainless steel tape for the aircraft. I found some one time afterwards, in an aviation surplus store. Won't bend too sharply but won't come off too easy either.
The duck/duct tape I have in the tool box is over twenty years old. I haven't had to use it, I think, yet. Probably needs replacing.
I've got some Aluminum tape I got from work. Has an expiration date on it where we can't use it any more at work and we have to throw it out. Not on my watch! I've used it to tape metal siding together at campgrounds for people that had an accident and needed to get home or to a repair shop. I've used it to make a solar oven to make biscuits (tape the inside of a cardboard box with it and paint the outside black and put it over your baking sheet with the buscuits on them for a few hours on a sunny day).
Not to side track the post but Gorilla tape beats duct tape badly and if installed on a clean surface is pretty much permanant unless you pull it off which is no easy task. Love the stuff. - slarsenExplorerI used Gorilla tape to cover the openings on the underside and back of my pin box. Keeps the birds out! Easy to do, too.

- rondebExplorerWe backed into a tree and damaged a rear corner. We had just left home for a 3 month trip. Used Gorilla Duck Tape to tape the corner. Held the entire month. When we took it in to be prepared, we were told not to leave that tape on too long or it will discolor the finish. It protected the corner which would have been exposed to water for the 3 months. Dry as a bone when it was taken off.
- rxcampingExplorerI used it to hold my siding in place when it came loose. Kept in place all season.
- CA_TravelerExplorer IIIGorilla Tape! Gorilla Tape! Gorilla Tape! Why can't we get RVers to change from Duct tape to Gorilla Tape???
Taped a short suspicious roof seam. Every year it looked good so why remove it? Gorilla tape doesn't understand that the sun beats down on it every day. Still OK 4 years later! Duct tape maybe a few months of life. - bluckExplorerI have a 1956 Ajo camper I hunt out of sometimes. It developed a leak in the roof seam. I read that Gorilla Tape was water proof so I tried it. It's been there 4 years and still no leak.
- CoachDadExplorerNothing on the RV yet but I do have a piece of it covering a small hole punched in the top of my conversion van from a softball foulball last summer!
Still no leak!
