What type of caulking to use

Our MH has what looks like body side moldings on the outside. I replaced the the caulking with 100% silicon but in about 2 months the caulking attracted dirt and does not have the clean look I was looking for. I tried to use a cleaner to scrub off the dirt but it did not work. I talked to the local RV parts store and he had no suggestions on what to use that would not attract dirt. Any suggestions on what to use would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  • I use the "clear" E6000 glue/sealant. It sets up very quickly, so it is good for vertical seams as well as horizontal. Since it is a glue and sealant, it doesn't need any prep(just a clean surface)and sticks to most anything. If you run a nice bead, it's almost invisible. It can be found at most craft stores including Hobby Lobby.
  • My experience is that DAP 3.0 for widows, doors and siding works well on trim and fiberglass on RV. You can get it at Lowe's. As with all caulk, preparation of the surface is everything.

Remove the silicone. It's the worst thing you can use and very difficult to remove, and other caulks don't adhere over silcone well. Use GeoCel RV ProFlex. You can find it at at Campingworld.com or RVwholesellers.com.
