I was at Costco over the weekend and they had their in house brand which is a copy of the Yamaha 2000 (same Yamaha motor) and its $599!. You could get two of those and be barely over the price of one Yamaha or Honda 2000 and have the same great features and low noise(51 db).
you can get the Champion version of the 2000w inverter generator for about the same price, or less, and it has the ability to be paralleled.
the one you saw does not have this feature.
Northern Tool has the gray version made for them, by Champion for only $579:

The 'same' would be highly subjective.
.. Champion 75531.. Only 58 Dba,...this is the same as the honda right? so they would be the same on quiet??
Cheaper gens put out a kind of whirring sound that seems to carry much farther than the sound of a Yammy or Honda. I don't know about that particular model of Champ, but, that's been my experience. - LostinAZExplorer10db normal breathing

Other Communication Disorders - RbertalottoExplorerTWO Honda 2000i generators with the double hook-up kit or whatever its called. Easier to lift and move one at a time, only use one when all you need is 2000 watts, they simply sip fuel, if one fails on a trip you still have the second one. No brainer in my book!
- FunnyCamperExplorer IIlooked up the Champion 75531 and it said ---Quiet - Only 58 Dba, great for campsites, Raving, cabins and more.
this is the same as the honda right? so they would be the same on quiet??
also, the price was DOABLE. listed at $899 vs. the honda I saw at $2,900 - mlts22ExplorerYou get what you pay for. Unless something untoward happens, I'd probably say the 3000 watt Yamaha I have will outlive me.
Champions are a midway point between the red/blues and playing the lottery on no-name Chinese stuff. If one doesn't have the cash for red/blue (and in this horrid economy, it is understandable), Champion is always a decent option.
