And then there was this...logging crew pulled up to our site and started cutting down 150 foot fir that was no more than 5 feet from our slide. We asked if they wanted us to move. Answer, "Not necessary, no problem."Click For Full-Size Image.
Most of those tree guys are pretty talented, but that's a bit close. I've cut down a few trees myself and watched a couple of pros fall some really big ones on our property. On occasion the base of the log will jump back over the stump a bit as it hits the ground.
Did they haul those off as logs? They would still have to limb them and grind the branches. Bet that was a quiet and peaceful time? - bukhrnNomad"What's the WORST Experience You ever had at a RV/Camp site?"

We encountered a crazy woman who kept coming over and INSISTING we change sites with her. After the third visit from "rosannadanna", we contacted the park ranger and they kicked her and family out of the park.
just curious...did she say why?
She claimed she had camped in our spot since she was a young girl. This was in a state park that had no site specific reservations. The woman clearly needed medication for psychological problems. She stalked us and the park ranger made it clear that if she refused to leave she would be arrested. They left. - janstey58ExplorerAny of the past 2-3 times we have stayed at a park west of Omaha. Always fun to watch and be harassed by the drunken owner always with a smoke in her hand, who is waaayyy over the top on keeping rules enforced.
- KittykathExplorer IIWhile sitting down to dinner, we heard a lot of commotion a few sites down, followed by a woman running and hollering for help. I'm a first responder, but no medical professional by any means. We discovered a teen boy lying in the dirt, obviously burned from head to toe. My recent training kicked in, and anyone with any medical training jumped in to help, moving stranger's trucks, ripping clean sheets off their beds, offering bottled water, keeping the boy out of shock, anything to help before the paramedics arrived. We were able to save a life that day, but the image of the scared boy lying in my arms will never go away. It was a lesson on the dangers of campfires for everyone.
- punomaticExplorerRecently stayed in a state park in WA state. The next door neighbors had set up 8 tables, including a full bar. They had a MH, 2 tents, an SUV, a sedan and a boat on a trailer in a space designated for 2 vehicles only. There were about 10-15 people in the site (designated for 8) most of the time. They all smoked, but were careful to come into our site to do so. Their campfire burned constantly in weather that was in the 90s, even though there was a statewide ban on open fires, due to smoke from the B.C. forest fires. Their dog only did his jobs in our site. They parked their cars so that we couldn't get our TV out of our driveway. To their credit, they were quiet during quiet hours, but we were very glad to see them go the day before we had to leave.
- doc_brownExplorerStayed at Lakeside RV Park in Pahrump NV many times. My last stay was unique. When I returned at noon to my MH my neighbor came over and told me that two guys who were camped about 15 spaces away were trying to get into my rig by attempting to open the bay doors and checking the windows. I proceeded to walk my dog around the park and as I came down my row I walked by these guys sitting next to their very seasoned MH. I said nothing but they commented how nice my MH was and that I must have really nice things inside. Interesting. Well, I'm 6'4" and 230 lbs and was in the area for firearm training. As I walked away my reason for being in Pahrump was obvious on my hip. My neighbor confirmed no other attempts were made.

That's what they did in olden times. He did say he was retired, probably before ether :) - CrabbypattyExplorerWhile camping in Plymouth last summer, this group of two units, setup a table on the one site. During the day they got plastered, loud screaming cursing. It was all about them and they couldnt care less about anyone around them. A couple summers ago while camping on the beach same thing different place. Seems like CG's need to have a prty section where these people can let loose, and another section for the rest of us who have matured past that. I like my solo cup to, but I dont intrude on my neighbors airspace
