When do most of the Snowbirds head south???

I don't go south for the winter, but my in-laws were traveling north on I-35 to Des Moines today and told me they met several TT heading south. When my grandparents went to Sun City the left after thanksgiving, flew back a week for Christmas than stayed till Easter.

We were thinking this was a little early to be heading south, but each their own.

There is no correct answer, whatever suits your lifestyle.
  • Here in Tucson, we are starting to see quite a few of our winter visitors. Most of them leave by March.

What ever your lifestyle is, if you are considering RVing anywhere near the Phoenix and or surrounding areas this winter, you need to make your reservations Today!!!!! The snowbirds
flock to this area every winter. People generally start arriving as early as Nov. and most stay until the 1st of April. The big interest is Spring Training Baseball and warm sun.
  • Many folks go south for 5 or 6 months so now would be the time. They are already coming into Arizona. Some don't return for the holidays. They celebrate where they are.
  • Go when it's getting cooler than you like, but before you have to winterize the MH to get there.

Go after hunting season is over.

Go after you have everything winterized around the house.

    Go before hit snows.

Go when you feel like it - you're retired, enjoy the trip, don't make a rush of it - move south as it gets cooler.
