Who all carries a DRONE while RVing?

I started out with a Radian electric glider with a go pro mounted to the top. I moved up to a Blade 350QX Drone. Got better videos but not happy with wifi range. Just purchased the Phantom 3 Standard. This is the one I would recommend to you. Phantom is the number one selling drone .
The Standard is their least expensive model but for $499.00 you get drone with camera plus controller. The video quality is just as good as my go pro which cost as much as the drone.
You do need a smart phone to run their app though.
As for flying, it pretty much flys itself. Push button hands free launch, hands free return home, very stable in the air. Very easy for first time pilot to control.
I carry mine when we go RVing all the time. Most of the time along the Oregon Coast. If I see a scenic area I will find an out of the way place and get some shots.

As I stated, I think they are actually kinda cool. I wouldn't mind having one, but I don't want someone flying one over my house, potentially taking pictures, even if I don't own the airspace.

I would love to have a drone, but like another poster stated, I may not use it enough to justify the purchase. I have a remote controlled car and a helicopter. Never could get the helicopter to fly more than a few feet (real copter, not the double blade type).

As usual there are some real tough guys hidden behind the computer screen. I would be curious as to how many of the drone haters have EVER seen one in person or actually seen one flying in a campground. As with many other posts, some here like to regurgitate how they know their rights, but don't have a clue.....like who owns the air above your home and the minerals below it.

You get a couple of stories about one or two drones, out of millions, being misused and a bunch of lemmings come on here professing hatred for something that has NEVER affected their life!

And this thread is equally full of stupid comments from people who have no clue or care about rights, privacy, or anything along those lines. So, as soon as someone comments about it, out come the "there's technology that can see you pick your nose and scratch your butt from two miles. Sure there is, but the average citizen is not going to have access to that, and for the most part, the govt or news service won't use it for nefarious purposes.

This whole thread is simply stupid with comments from people that have no clue of "drones", the capibilities of the camera equipment IF they even have cameras, then start spoutting about their rights. You might be suprised what they really are. What you DON'T have the right to do is shoot one down; you don't own the airspace. Any standard equipped real TV news helicopter can stare in your windows from well over 2000' with better pictures than any GoPro type camera and you would NEVER see nor hear it, and spy satellite and black ops gear is way better than that. Add that to you'alls paranoid list.

Read my post. I was talking about flying over MY property... and I also said that I think drones are cool (although I don't have one). Don't tell me that someone can't or hasn't used a drone for nefarious purposes. Google earth is "ok", but if I wanted to case a joint, and get updated info, in particular if someone is home (or not), then I could use a drone and observe your house for a week, and have a great idea of what your habits are etc...

oh, and to your point... if the majority of drone operators don't care what's in your backyard, then Im not worried about the majority of drone operators. I don't want someone flying over my property, taking pictures. If they happen to transit on the way to some open space or whatever, fine, but if they are hanging around, taking pics, I do have a problem with that. Majority of people wouldn't be interested, you're right... Majority of people aren't criminals either. But, some are... it's those that I do worry about.

My whole point was to comment about folks who say it's okay to give up your privacy just because you have nothing to hide. Newsflash.. It's NOT okay to give up your rights, even if you choose not to exercise them. Because you are giving up my rights at the same time.
