I love sounding off in these threads because it's obvious it'll be closed soon.
Drones are the latest sign of conspicuous consumption by the Google set. Just because you can afford to buy something doesn't mean you should. And buying something doesn't come with the common sense to operate it responsibly. Therefore, the majority of America is anti-drone, for many reasons including "I cant afford one and hate people who can".
Caught up in the rush to control the idiots are the thousands of radio controlled plane operators who has been flying responsibly for years and are now required to register their models. Worse than that, they are being lumped in with the butthead drone owners.
I've said this several times - rich people ruin everything.
