As a non-drone owner I find all the anger almost amusing. The argument of, "it will crash into my camper and damage it," is complete BS. The argument of "it invades my privacy in the campground," is also misguided.
Lets put it in perspective...YOU have a greater chance of a stick or large pinecone falling out of a 100' tree and hitting you or your RV while camping in northern CA, reguardless of how meticulous the property owner is.
You have a much greater chance of being bit by your "neighbor's" dog in most campgrounds than being struck by a falling drone. In some more "compact" campgrounds your peeping neighbors will be casing your joint more than the passing drone.
Again, I am not a drone owner because they are a little more than I care to spend on them. I think they are neat, but do not neccesarily want to be chased by one either. I think there is a lot of paranoia and unneeded government meddling on what is essentially a harmless hobby.
Believe it or not there are those out there that will manage to give whatever activity they do a bad name.
Dont panic, Its just a fancy remote control. To get back to the final question of the post.... There is one with a pendant that will follow you, lead you, or orbit you. It floats, and can self-land if needed. Really neat toy. There is also one that can take multiple hits of a 12 guage shotgun if youre flying by "that guy in camp."
