Voyeurs have been around since the invention of the tree... The telescope has made them even more prevalent. That being said, drones are not very ideal for sneaking images of your neighbor's wife nude sunbathing habits. To fly close enough to "see" anything would bring attention to the potential victim because of the noise while flying high enough to avoid detection by sound will leave the perp with rather pixilated imagery. I'm sure as the technology matures this sort of thing could become more of an issue but right now, it isn't. The example a previous poster gave about flying to a boat is interesting and certainly would be a nuisance. There are some bad apples that will ruin it for the rest of us. If the drone is so close to the boat that tossing a net at it is possible I probably wouldn't feel much empathy for the drone operator if that person had repeatedly harassed the boat.
Getting back to camping and drones... For those of you that don't like drones, this thread isn't for you. I wanted to hear from those that have drones or thinking about getting a drone what their opinions about taking one camping.
1. Did you use it for photography, playing around, scouting out a potential campsite, other?
2. Where did you fly?
3. What precautions did you take to not be a nuisance?
4. What type of drone do you have?
5. Where did you store it in the camper?
6. Where there any challenges to charging the batteries?
7. What was the range like in heavily forested areas?
8. Did you get comments from other campers?
9. What sort of rules did you encounter at various places?
Again, this thread is intended for people that have a drone and have taken it camping and what their experiences have been.
