Tradition for the Hispanic community in south texas is to gather at the state parks with large extended family groups. Music, barbeque, partying is what it is all about. Rules require no visible alcoholic containers. I think it is great that the large families come together. I avoid state parks on Easter holidays
One thing I've noticed - if you don't book at least six months in advance for an RV site during a major three-day holiday, you just ain't gonna get one! Right now, the only RV sites left in the Texas State Parks system are at Cedar Hill SP. I was looking forward to a beach trip to Galveston, CC (Mustang Island SP) or Goose Island SP. They have been booked solid for months. Same goes for Palo Duro, and even Mother Neff!
