Why do you RV on weekends and vacations?For me it was down time. A time to not answer the phone or solve the regular day to day crisis. A time to read a book, eat food we normally cannot afford, and take a nap. In other words, a chance to decompress. We only went to the nearest campground as it made no difference how far away from home we were, the important part was that we were away.We now full time and it certainly is different, but just as good. On Sunday, we watch many people leave the campground for home, while we stay, because we are home.

Exactly! No cell phone, no tablets, no TV. Enjoy the peace and quiet. Its downtime for us too. I am always amazed at how many people simply can't put down their electronics. I try and go to places without service on purpose.

Reading the title I thought this was going to be a negative comment on camping. Was all geared up with my rebutal answer as "Why do bears poop in the woods"For us it's what we like to do together... I guess we poop in the woods a few time ourselves haha...It just don'r come any better for us being setup on a creek bed somewhere back in the woods with a good bonfire going, listening to the creek water go by, and drinking good ole fresh ground bean coffee. Relax, have fun, see new areas, snorkel different springs, hike different areas, meet new people, ride bikes, and just to get away!

We go almost every month to a state park which is 25 miles away. We leave behind a nice log cabin on a 2 acre pond. I get away from playing golf 4 days a week, 1 day of yard work, and my normal day of rest. At the park we sit by the lake, read, walk and I get rested up for the next week of golf.So why do I need to camp? I don't know. But I like it.

I will sum it up like this take all your troubles put them in a big box shut the door travel 5 to 500 miles,, when you get there you open the door to the box Your troubles( most of them) have magically gone away.....and then you do what you wish you could do all the time.........relax, read, fish, sleep.Sit around a fire with good friends,who,amazingly,.....Do the same thing....

I will sum it up like this
take all your troubles put them in a big box shut the door

travel 5 to 500 miles,, when you get there you open the door to the box

Your troubles( most of them) have magically gone away.....and then you do what you wish you could do all the time.........relax, read, fish, sleep

.Sit around a fire with good friends,who,amazingly,.....Do the same thing....

DW & I thought about buying some land & cottage or permanent TT. But then we figured we'd be tied to it. Having our TT lets us go different places on our schedule.

Based on your cabin and lifestyle, I gotta say, that I don't know why you need to camp either, but that is really not important.

That golfing is hard work! A person needs to recuperate from that. :)

I camp so I can relax, take photos of scenic places, and have my dogs with me. I can do any one or two of the three fairly easily, but getting to do all three at the same time is a bit more difficult. Camping makes it possible.

for us it is all about change of scenery from the homestead :)
