I don't camp for the sake of camping. I camp because it gets me closer to a lake, a railroad track, or some other attraction I want to see. Also, it's easier to get friends to camp with me than to come camp in my yard for the weekend.
With two young children and all the stuff and aggravation that goes with them it's far more relaxing to stay home. But then home is on 12 wooded acres where you can't see another neighbor and the nearest traffic light is over 15 miles away.
