Why did you decide to get an rv?
We tent camped for many, many years. Then came that day both kids had friends with us (they were about 10 years old then), and it rained, and rained, and rained. And water came in from UNDER the tent, and then water came in from ABOVE the tent, and then water came in TRHOUGH the tent. We were huddled together, along with 2 dogs cold, wet and miserable.
The wife then said: "Ge me off the ground or I'll never go camping with you again!" That's when we purchased our pop-up.
We used the pop-up for 6 years, in warm and cold weather. Then came the day, the kids were no longer camping with us, we were in Michigan in March at a Church Campground for an event. The weather was ... yea ... cold, and wet. It was that trip the wife said again, "I'm cold, and wet!" I'm tired of packing up in the rain, dealing with canvas sides being wet, and feeling chilly all the time. Get me something warm or I'll never go camping with you again! And I will admit, I hated folding up the pop-up in the rain, and it seemed every time we took the pop-up out, it rained when we were ready to head home.
That's when we purchased our first Travel Trailer.
Edit: If I may indulge you a bit longer?
After we purchased our first Travel Trailer, I (kind of insisted) we use the campground bath house. I was very reluctant to use the camper shower and toiled. We were both OK with that, until one day ....
The wife came storming back from the bath house after taking a shower. She was fuming smoke from both ears! She said there was a woman in the bath house with her son, who was probably 10 or 11 years old. While she was taking the shower, the boy was pulling back the shower curtains on the stalls where other women were taking showers. My wife raised all kinds of HE!! in there with that woman about the boy being in there, and more than that, being so "boyish!" The woman thought my wife was being too critical and saw nothing wrong what her precious little angel was doing!
Well, my wife came storming back to the camper, still dripping wet (Literally like an old hen left in the barnyard in a rain storm with the the hen house door shut!) She stormed in the camper and gave me a "What for moment!"
She yelled she would NEVER, EVER use a another bath house again! We had a toilet and shower in the camper and by-golly-****, she was going to use it! If I had problem with that I could just go suck-an-egg! If I was concerned about dumping the tank to get a blue tote and haul the SH** away! OR... She would NEVER go camping with me again!
Enough said! I got the blue tote, and she's been HAPPY ever since!
