It's interesting how many people think that tenting still means you have to sleep on the ground which I'll agree is not my idea of maximum comfort.
Now if I'm back packing and carrying all my gear yes, a sleeping bag and pad is the way to go and I just set my mind to it in advance.
However, for me, car camping, requires an air mattress and portable bed stand similar to this:
