I grew up in scouting and loved to tent camp. I would go tent camping with my younger brother and his family a lot. My son is in scouts now and we go tent camping with his troop.
Late last October, my wife and her son wanted to try camping with my son and me. We went to a military FamCamp on the lake. 8 person tent with my wife, me, our 2 boys, and 2 dogs. The boys and I had a blast. The wife had fun but said that she would never camp again unless she had walls and her own bathroom. We started our research and 4 1/2 months later, we bought a Class C. Haven't camped in it yet. We are going to Monte Sano state park in Huntsville, AL in 2 weeks. We were supposed to go camping a couple weeks ago but canceled due to rain.
