Why do parks ask for license plate information?

I've noticed some states, federal and private resorts asks that I jot down the license plate number when I'm checking in. I can understand they can use it to save lives in vast and remote locations b...

Many states have laws that require that info be taken at check in . In an emergency they can match vehicle to room/space number , besides the NSA tells them to ! I always wear an aluminum hat and write wrong tag number ! Its worked so far .
