Why do people spell Cummins with a "ings" ?
as in "Cummings" ? is it from when Forrd owned them?

Yes, I know. My point was the people who say Cummings may be thinking that all the rest of us are sayin' it wrong by dropping the g, so they try to "do it right" by saying Cummings and spelling it Cummings.
But I think others gave the more likely explanation. Cummings is a more popular sir name than Cummins.
