Why do people spell Cummins with a "ings" ?

The label on our windshield that the dlr had put on say Cuminns. I left it there to have something to talk about.

Put "Cummins" in here and you will see the spell checker changes it to read with the "ing" The spell checkers are wrong not the OP.
