Why don't they ?

Have more dump stations that are inclined down 4-5 degrees from the curb side down to the drivers side? seems like you get a faster and more complete "Evacuation" with this setup. In all my years I've only seen one configured like this at Highlands Hammock SP near Sarasota. I've seen coaches with levelers jack up the curb side to dump but that's not possible for us TT and 5th Wheel Peeps.

It just makes sense to me.

I know, 1st world problems.
  • I much prefer the ones I can just get close to and pull the handle. Those sewer hoses are such a pain and most of the time not needed. People just seem to get so upset though when you do that...LOL
  • Prime example is the dump station next to Walmart in Whitehorse, slopes the wrong way.

I actually put my hose in the dump station port once and pulled the valve and suddenly the dump hose broke. What a mess that made. Nothing I could do about it except wash it down with the hose provided.
  • Sounds like some of you coach owners will have to utilize your drivers side levelers if you ever dump at Highlands Hammock SP.

    He,he. I still think it's a brilliant idea.

    "seem"

I pulled into the campground here in Marietta, GA just to dump my tanks after dry camping one weekend. The manager took the dump fee and asked if I had been there before. I said, "Yes". He said, "OK, then you know you're supposed to use a hose, right?" A previous customer had opened the valve and splashed the tank contents in the direction of the dump station.

Must have been Hillary Clinton's campaign bus.

I've been to exactly one dump station where that was the accepted method of dumping. It was at a waste treatment plant, and RV's used the same open grating location as the commercial septic tank pumpers. Just pull across the grate and pull the valve handle. There was a fast moving stream of water in a channel under the grate that carried the waste away as fast as it was dumped in, and a high pressure hose on a retractable reel was available for rinsing down the grate.
