Mass drivers (a.k.a. Massholes) are far worse than anywhere else I've driven except maybe the W. Palm-Ft Lauderdale I-95 corridor. To date, I have driven in 47 states. Some great Mass. road tricks. Keep in mind, around here there is at least one news story a day about a road rage incident.
* Get on the road and immediately into the center or left lane, regardless of your speed.
* Stay in the left lane until .05 miles before your exit, then cross 2-3 lanes to exit.
* Drive whatever speed you want to in the left lane, regardless of how many cars are stacked behind you.
* Feign ignorance of all traffic law changes until you get a ticket for violating one. Yield to traffic IN the rotary was made a law in 1981. Just yesterday I was cutoff in the rotary by someone who just drove through not looking.
* Making eye contact with traffic at stops signs and rotaries is a sign of weakness. If someone looks at you, it's ok to cut them off.
* Lane markers are just suggestions for the recommended placement of your vehicle on the pavement.
* Mind the gap. Also called the MSG (Most Significant Gap) theory. If the space between you and the line of cars in front of you is greater than the average gap in the line of cars, you have the MSG. Someone will try to get in there, regardless of whether there's actually enough room for their car.
* Whatever you do, don't use your blinker. If someone has a blinker on, do not believe it. It's probably stuck on from misuse.
