Good for her. Rules and laws make it hard to die on your on terms anymore. An acquaintance died while working in the woods during the spring maple syruping harvest with his sons. He had always said he wanted to be buried on his farm. The sons argued with the state police for several hours before they finally got hold of someone that explained to the police that in VT the law was on their side. He did not have to go to a mortuary, they did have to have a coroner come out for the death certificate. They built the coffin from lumber that they had harvested from their land and had been drying and buried him close to where he died. And the mortuaries were cheated from their fees.
Recently moved from a state that insisted you had to be embalmed even if you were cremated. My wife and both just want to be turned to ash and scattered.
