Well, last year with our previous coach (Safari Simba DP), the slide out topper tore in the wind and I had an rv tech come out from a local rv dealer to repair it. During the process of removing the old awning, he - without hesitation - stepped out on the slide out ceiling, knelt down and removed the shredded awning pieces...scooted along the entire length of the slide out and then stepped back on the mh's roof.
To my surprise, it didn't seem to affect the slide out in the slightest.... and I was all cocked to giv'em hell. :M
So, in my case, I'd say "yeah, why not?"
