I have to ask, why do you walk on your slide roof all the time ? Mine has an awning over it, and I also can't think of any reason why I would want to walk on the slide roof.
The side of my slide is where I rest my ladder when I go on the roof. When I clean the top of the slide I am all over it sweeping, wiping, cleaning, etc. There is no flex under my feet and the top of my slide has suffered no damage. The top is just as strong as the bottom.
