Winnebago Pesticide Policy

The most recent Winnebago Go Mail (email) “newsletter” advocates the following:

“4. Bug Spray Around Perimeter of RV - Exterior insect killer sprayed around the perimeter of your RV is a great line of defense. Diatomaceous earth is another great insect repellant, and is actually a natural, non-toxic bug repellent alternative if pets or kids will be around the RV! Remember to reapply these products after it rains, as they’ll get washed away.”

I’d hate to be the eleventh camper in a site after the last ten sprayed insecticide around their RV with the blessing of Winnebago. What about my kid and my pets? And where does Winnebago think the insecticide goes when it’s “washed away?

Very irresponsible advice.

The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching one by one,
The little one stops to suck his thumb
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching two by two,
The little one stops to tie his shoe
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! ....

Lets the ants invade! Save the environment! Who needs a solid floor in their campers anyway, or a roof that is not eat up by carpenter ants, or your favorite cereal box filled with black crawling things. Nay! Let them in and eat up your $35,000 camper! Common' ants ... FREE LUNCH!
