Winterization Pump

Sold our fifth wheel this year and moved up to a Park Model.

Love it, but it does not have the winterization pump like our old 5th wheel..

I am looking at either a hand pump (Valerra or Camco) a water transfer pump or repurposing a hand garden sprayer pressure pump with a hose attachment.

The hand pump is cheap and simple. But someone has to stand there pumping it.
I looked at hand pump sprayers but the screw fitting was not standard to get fittings for a garden hose attachment.

Does anyone have a good recommendation on how to get winterization fluid into a Park Model?

  • We use DutchmenSport's way when we winterize the parks models at the end of the season here at the campground.
  • I added a T valve on the intake side of the RV's water pump. A tube from the second inlet goes into the pink antifreeze jug.
  • With an on demand pump The pump only comes on when it senses the need for liquid, as in when you turn on the faucets or toilets.
Nothing to be worried about. I also use a battery pack jump starter for power since you probably don't have 12 volt in the trailer
  • Here ya go. Picked this one up at Lowe's. I use it to transfer from my 35 gallon tank to my fresh water holding tank on the camper. With a garden hose, you can hook it up to the inlet of your Park Model, and drop the other end into a bucket as suggested above. Simple, and yes... a one person job:

  • Any recommendations on an on demand transfer pump? Been looking and that on demand feature is scaring me. I know nothing about pumps. Our 5er had a built in pump so I just needed to flip the switch.

I guess I would get an on demand pump, like your old one, hook one end to the fresh water inlet, put the other end in a bucket with 3 gallons of antifreeze. One person job
