I purchased lepages "no more nails" adhesive tape to stick them up. They kept falling off with the tape that was on them.

I too tapped into the porch light. I love these things. They put out a lot more light (or less if you want) and uses a fraction of the power that the single bulb porch light did. I have the 16 foot strip with a wireless remote which gives you dozens of color choices.
