Worst RV Brand List

The List

Make sure you read the note at the top of the list, like most of these lists there is some question about how they were generated.
  • I usually try not to pile on, but that list contains "Fleetwood Trailers", which hasn't existed for years.
  • This type of post usually ends up with people fighting, that being said, I do see some truth in it, particularly the one they say is really bad.
  • Are the percentages even complaints from owners? Or are people who say "I talked to a guy in a campground who said his (insert RV brand here) is a POS" also included?
  • Just a collection of uninformed opinions, so the result cannot be taken seriously. Why, we might as well hold elections the same way. :B
  • Most of those manufacturers have many different brand name models within their family of products ranging from entry level to "high end" or "luxury" models. Without knowing if the percentages hold up against all models, or are skewed by certain models withing the family, then the results are of limited value.
  • Since they didn't separate by percentages sold versus percentage of complaints, it would only seem logical that those that sold the most are going to be cited with the most complaints.
  • The problem with surveys is getting all the facts.

    45% don't recommend Forest River.

How many of those 3000 own this trailer? 30 or 300
  • I don't put much stock into the list. The bigger the company the more complaints your going to get. We had a 2017 Forest River Wildcat that had some cosmetic issues in the exterior fiberglass and a floor that developed soft spots. Forest River (at least the Wildcat division) replaced our fifth wheel without me even asking. While it sucked having to have repairs, I was blown away that they would do this. They also would compensated me for any mods that couldn't easily be taken off (such as a pressure tank and new bath fan), plus as a bonus the new one came with a second AC unit and 16" tires vs the 15"

Forest river builds **** like the rest of them but I cannot complain about their service. When reading about the horror stories of getting repairs done I didn't have high hopes but they proved me wrong. It also helps having good dealer to go to bat for you as well.

  • My Jayco is kind of a mixed bag, front face of my trailer started to de-lam on year 2 which was covered under the 2 year warranty. On the positive side service was great doing the repair. Problem free since.

My previous Thor TT was junk

  • Three percent of Winnebago purchasers wouldn’t recommend Winnebago doesn’t seem too bad. Those three may never be satisfied.
