A welded metal wheel that says 50 psi is probably just tested to that limit. It's still a solid metal piece that's welded just like any wheel.
That same wheel could probably take several hundred pounds of pressure without exploding, cracking or otherwise failing. (same for aluminum wheels)
It doesn't mean the wheel will fail at any pressure above 50 PSI.
EVERYTHING that has a rating is tested BEYOND what it's rated for.
Watched "How It's Made" last night they were showing how they make beer Kegs, they test to 3x what the keg will ever see.
