Yea! Hotdog and doughnut sales is what REALLY keep them in business! Well... that and maybe lottery tickets too!
I have a great nephew who is a regional mgment trainer for Quick Trip Corp and he says the same thing. Fuel pumps just attracts customers but the real money maker business is sold inside their stores.
I know the larger town near me had 6-7 mom and pop fuel/stores. Fuel was 5-7 cents a gal higher than other towns around. A QT went in and fuel prices at the pump in that town went down and followed the other small town/big city stores where there was a QT store.
Fuel prices goes back up many folks dump the gazz hogs in favor of smaller vehicles with gas sipper engines.....and many slow down and start driving the speed limit again.
