others didn't point out that the rain usually is sideways and the canopy's don't do ****, even in a light rain. in other words you still get soaked.

Hmm---Interesting. We spent 3 weeks along the shore. Light rain every day no surprise, and I never saw it raining sideways. And while I was in the Navy I spent 4 months in Bremerton, WA. Where it rained for 143 days straight. And never once sideways. Maybe during winter storms with strong winds since I did not see any of those. Rare indeed tho.
