Is that a 2 or 3 place sled trailer? There's no way that the hitch should be off the ground level like what you posted. I agree too that someone perhaps added a 2nd axle. If possible, contact the trailer mfr to see what how many axles came w/ it from factory and of what capacity. My guess is 1 @ 3500 lbs. Here's a thought. What if you removed the front tires only and drove around to see if it makes any difference? Being a steel frame trl, it should weigh in around 2000 empty as I had a 4 place V-nose enclose Haulmark sled trailer steel frame that weighed 4500 empty. Now have a 4 place V-nose Proline sled trailer alum frame and weighs 2500.
