Right on the money! I have an FAA PMA license. Also 50+ years of hard earned experience with crimping, soldering, sealing in corrosive environments. I do not give a **** how well crimped and sealant sealed a termination is, tear it down after 5 years in harsh environment and compare it to a squeezed soldered and heat shrinked termination. Both hex die squeezing and soldering are equal at first. I was forced to solder 20,000+ factory spot welded terminations within alternators and starters while rebuilding them. The most stringent anti-corrosion techniques on the face of the earth are utilized by the USN especially in carrier aircraft electrical and electronics.
